My name is Marilyn Harris and I am the school counselor here at Liberty Elementary School. I have worked in White Settlement for 15 years; 9 years as a classroom teacher, and this will be my 7th year as a school counselor. I attended Texas Christian University where I received my undergraduate degree, and then Texas Wesleyan University where I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. My husband and I live in Fort Worth and have 2 kids, Lucas and Bianca who keep us busy all year long!
I love this community, the children, and the people in White Settlement, and I am very lucky to continue the journey this coming year!
How will students be able to see me, and what will the counselor do with your children?
I provide support through small group counseling, individual counseling, and classroom character class (guidance).
I work on problem solving, self-esteem. Coping strategies, social skills, changing families, teamwork, conflict, and character education
How do students get to see the counselor?
~Students may ask
~Parents may request
~Teacher or principal may send them.
Throughout the year we focus on programs and activities enhancing the Six Pillars of Character;
Kindness, Responsibility, Honesty, caring for one another, trustworthiness, and citizenship.
I am looking forward to another exciting year at Liberty Elementary!
